St. Peter's & St. Paul's is a beautiful rural Essex church, sited at the centre of St. Osyth village. The churchyard is very open & has a footpath around it, bypassing the central crossroads to the village green. St. Peter's & St. Paul's is a very interesting building with a varied mix of stone & red-brick in its construction. The exterior has plenty of intricate details to spot, but the interior is even more attractive. There's a decorative use of stone & red-brick inside the church with some very ornate features of interest...

Lovely church to visit

The church dates back to the C12 and has undergone many revisions through the years. It has a great blend of old and new which has been tastefully and expertly. The church boasts a Sheepfold rail, one of only 2 in the country but this is unique in that the open end faces the congregation such that the are inside the rail to receive Communion. Open daily and well worth a visit.
