St. Peter & St. Paul's is a traditional red-brick & stone rural Essex church, located at the centre of St. Osyth, nearby the narrow crossroads. It's quite a large building with a short, squat tower, but very decorative walls mixing stones & red-brick. The surrounding churchyard is grassy with some old gravestones sheltered by mature deciduous trees. A Public Footpath runs along one side of the churchyard, from the shopping centre towards St. Osyth Priory. Although the local Priory receives all the attention as regards the village's impressive architecture, in many ways the church is the overlooked gem. The building has many interesting details both inside & outside & is worthy of as much attention as the impressive Priory.

Beautiful church, well maintained and with kitchen and toilet facilities. Pleasantly warm too. We received a friendly welcome. A special place of worship.
